Marching On – what’s been happening!

There are exciting times ahead for us here at Whispering Gibbon – while we haven’t been updating our website as often as we’d like, we have been working away at our two technologies, RenderFab and GrabIt. RenderFab allows the creation of 3D printable models from renderer data – allowing a model to be analysed, repaired as needed and then 3D printed. GrabIt technology allows the capture of 3D screenshots from in-game scenes – allowing players to immortalise their favourite moments in 3D, share, embed and, using RenderFab, receive them as a real 3D print. TCT Magazine sums up our inspiration, and our approach to 3D printing in their article about us here.

With Whispering Gibbon’s collective industry experience of over 60 years, and the exciting new promise of RenderFab and GrabIt, we took off – literally! Our CEO, Joe Stevens was one of the lucky three to catch a very special British Airways mentoring flight to Austin, Texas to be mentored by the very prestigious Capital Factory – an entrepreneur network and accelerator based in the state capital.

Following that, we have received great coverage from Forbes, and secured a venture capital investment from Northstar Ventures, allowing us to press ahead with development.

We’ve also proud to have been featured in the latest Creative England 50 research. Now in it’s second year, they rank the best of businesses that take a bright idea and turn it into a commercial success.
Off the back of our recent successes, we’re working with a number of diverse clients to integrate the technology into their products – so expect more news of this as projects launch in the coming months!
